recent arts is a duo formed by chilean visual artist valentina berthelon and german musician tobias freund. together they present live audio-visual shows ranging from experimental improvisations to works that are more aligned with the global electronic music club scene.

dutch producer arts the beatdoctor is set to release his newest work, collaborating with pioneering label lowriders recordings. this ep, titled lazy thunder, marks a significant change to his trademark sound. breaking away from his former laid back style displayed on 2007s transitions (unexpected records), 2008s progressions ep (beats broke) and his releases with the q4 (project: mooncircle), this new ep continues the trend already hinted at in his recent remixes: still present are the hypnotic loops and deep atmospheres, but the setting has changed from the lounge area to the main stage

2023 repress incoming! for the second effort on his very own oblique imprint, ben buitendijk returns to the sound he’s only showcased through his well received promised land (mosaic) and a recent remix through subwax. this more dubby approach is the general thread in the sophomore oblique release called “past and present ep”. generally, this release is threading into deeper territories than it’s predecessor but is therefor revealing different sides of the label owner’s taste that are maybe being underexposed thus far.

repress 2021 - ricardo villalobos is back on raum musik with his third solo single for our label. the a side is a signature sounding track that can easily be described as a true masterpiece of him and it also has been sought after already for quite a while now by the ones that have heard it. the b side is unusually straight compared to most of his recent productions and builds a great tension if you let it play for a while. it also works very well as a perfect mixing tool. we hope you like these tracks as much as we do and as for the rest we just prefer to let the music do the talking…
